I purchased my first camera, a Fuji Finepix 3.2 megapixel 602 zoom for an extended conference in Washington DC in the spring of 2003. From the first weekend shooting tulips on the National Mall, I was hooked, and have been ever since.

Today, in my spare time, I am a fine art outdoor photographer based in Phoenix, Arizona, although I will shoot anywhere (and any time) I can. Most of my free time is spent traveling the backroads of Arizona and throughout the American west. It is a privilege to live and shoot is such a magnificent area.

I enjoy using my camera in non-traditional, "artistic" ways: motion, long shutter times to blur images, etc. My camera in this way becomes a true artistic tool, not a simple recording device.

This concept is further enhanced by my choice of print medium. At my shows, my images are printed a wide variety of media such as metallic paper (with and without plexiglass overlay), canvas, metal (aluminum), and traditional paper media. I take great care in choosing the correct media for the image, as presentation significantly increases the artistry that can be achieved by the photograph. There is simply no "one size fits all" media for photographic prints.

For more "traditional" images, i tend to shoot mostly at the edges of the day for optimum light and color. I do not often use filters (occasional polarizer, split neutal density and standard neutral density) and use minimal post-processing (except for what would be done at a standard photo/color lab). If one is at the right place at the right time, nature presents the light and color itself!

I have had numerous images published in the following venues: COLOR and Black and White magazines, Friends of Arizona Highways (Print and Online), and have had 2 images (so far) published by Arizona Highways. I am a Juried member of the Sonoran Arts League (based in Cave Creek, Arizona), and was a cover artist for the catalogue of their well known Hidden in the Hills home and studio tour in 2013. I was the first photographer to achieve this honor, even though the league has been in existence for 17 years.

I thank you for your interest in my work, and please feel free to contact me at [email protected] if you have any questions regarding my work.
